Founded in 2012 by Niamh O’Connor, a freelance consultant dietitian with 30 years’ experience, NutriCount® provides nutrition consultancy to large-scale, high-profile & award-winning food businesses in Ireland, Northern Ireland & the UK. Services provided include: advisory, product development, food law, recipe analysis, preparation of allergen management SOPs and consumer-facing documents, internal auditing, menu analysis (nutritional analysis & health claims), as well as bespoke staff training. We work with Hospitals, Hotels, Restaurants, Workplace Canteens, Café’s, Multi-national Franchises, Commercial Food Manufacturers, Catering Companies & Artisan Food Producers.

CORU Registered Dietitian & Consultant Nutritionist

Niamh is an honours graduate of Trinity College Dublin & Dublin Institute of Technology, and has practised as a dietitian in Ireland since 1993. The majority of her clinical posts were senior & single-handed positions in large teaching hospitals throughout the country. She also worked as a senior research nutritionist with the Irish Universities Nutrition Alliance for 3 years.

In 1999, Niamh founded Cork Nutrition Consultancy, a full time private dietetic practice & nutrition consultancy, the very first of its kind in Cork and the southern region, and remains the longest established. Over the past 30 years Niamh has worked in all areas of the nutrition and dietetic profession and brings this wealth of experience to her clients.

Niamh is registered with CORU (the statutory body for regulating healthcare professionals in Ireland), and is also a member of the Irish Nutrition & Dietetic Institute (INDI), the professional organisation for qualified state-registered dietitians/clinical nutritionists in Ireland. In 2008 she founded SEDI (a professional support & networking group for Self-Employed Freelance Dietitians in Ireland) which represents a small group of entrepreneurial dietitians, and she lead the group for 15 years.

She is also a busy mum of two, an accomplished pianist, addicted to shoes, partial to chocolate and a glass of Malbec! Also passionate about travel & busy working on her bucket list!
